When designing a covered pool, it is important to put a great emphasis on selecting the ventilation system.

For the small, domestic pools, where a cover system is used to eliminate the water evaporation, it is possible to use dehumidifier units. These units ensure that the humidity in the pool hall will stay within acceptable limits during the use of the pool. When the pool is not used, they are able to lower the relative humidity of the environment to a standard level. Nevertheless, one should not expect miracles.

In public operations (even in the smaller hotel and pension pools), there must be an air ventilation and recuperation unit installed. A separate chapter belongs to pools with heightened environment quality requirements. Among these are especially rehabilitation pools and pools for infant and toddler swimming, where an inadequate pool hall environment increases the risk of asthma, bronchitis and pneumonia.
